When I lived in Colorado we had a bad hail storm roll through the section of town populated by car dealers. Hundreds of cars were damaged.
The insurance companies paid the dealers for the damage, and the dealer then sold he cars at a discount. Or course they didn't discount the cars as much as the ins. companies gave them. It was a boon to the dealers, as they made $$ at both ends.
