Somehow I came to own a speedometer from an old Benz. Can you help me ID it?

I think it’s a W115, but those don’t seem to go to 120.

I look at that and I think, "Just look at all those fiddly stampings and itty metal bits.  Some engineers slaved away to design that and its' manufacturing process.  WOW!"

It looks like the yellow marks are shift points. Probably from a manual car.

Part number suggests it’s out of a W115 as you suspected.

Thanks RossD and Boxhead tim.

I don’t know why I’m not finding THAT part number, or the 120 top speed, but it is what it is.

120 is for the gas cars.

Speedo discussion

They reference shift marks and engine typed.

I was gonna say 220D (115) with a manual, but not with a 120 top speed.  HA HA.  Half that, maybe.

The rubber stamp says 10.76 which should be when it was made.....

I have that same speedometer in my garage, it was out of a six cylinder w115 I parted twenty years ago. All Mercedes have the shift points on the speedo even on auto cars.
