I agree that it looks better on the PC than it did on my phone. Plus, I think I see a Momo wheel and hub, which adds a couple of hundred bucks to the deal right there. I don't think I've seen cloth sport seats before, but that seems to be what this car has. I don't know about fixing and flipping it, but I might be tempted to fix it and keep it. Especially if it comes with suspension goodies.

I am still high bidder with a day and a half left. Keep your fingers crossed everyone :) I still have some room to my max bid so we will see what happens.

I'd take a gamble on it since it's an S and looks pretty clean otherwise. Rough parts cars with the body parts you need are easy to find cheap. I have an NA 944 auto in my field that I gave 500 for running, but with a blown HG.

Worse case I enter it in the challenge next year.... or part it out especially if it has suspension.

Or pass it onto me, I've wanted another later model since sold my s2 cabrio. But....I'm a dang cheapskate.

I know a guy who might fly into The Challenge and buy it.

I don't think this is an "s" it is a SOHC 8V motor by the photos. The S had 2.7 16v DOHC (Like the Op's car in the first post)

2.5 16V, IIRC. That's why it feels fairly gutless unless you rev it hard.

It's going to be hard to top the Infiniti... Risky business theme maybe( I know it's not a 928). On second thought that may be a bad idea John is no Tom Cruise

Yes, I am less of a Tom Cruise and more of a Jake Ryan from 16 Candles

They are all seemingly gutless until you strap a huffer of some type to them. A fairly boring engine family all things considered, IMO. Chassis isn't bad though, but definitely shows its age these days compared to the Miata and FRISBY's.

The 2.5 sohc motors need timing added particularly over 4000 rpm. From the factory the map lays over above about 5200. I put a stand alone EDIS system in my car and it really helped. Made it feel like a modern motor.

That looks like a good buy to me.

I am 15' from that place. If I wanted to buy a car from them, how can I go about that if I am not a dealer. There is an e36 M3 that looks interesting.

I am pretty sure non dealers can bid. I'm not sure about the process since I have had my dealer license since 2000. If not we can work something out but keep in mind I have to pay my buddy $250 for doing the papework, using the license etc...

I sent you a PM, asking some questions. I'd like to talk with you about tracking down a wrecked e46 M3.

I was defeated if I was buying it to keep I would have gone higher but after shipping and fees plus fixing the damage there was no room left. Oh well next time...

But the reason that he sends Anthony Michael Hall's character out in his dad's Rolls Royce is because the kid "can't drive stick." So I'm not saying that the 944 used for certain shots wasn't automatic, for the plot the 944 was supposed to be manual.

What did it sell for?

My max bid was $775.00, and it went for more then that. On top of that the auction charges a $175 buy fee. Plus an Internet bid fee of $50, since I didn't bid from their location. Plus a $30 loading fee when you pick up the car or have it shipped. Had I won I would have been at $1030.00. Then I have to fix it. It would have been a good buy at that but I was looking to resell it not keep it so I was cautious to spend more.

i'm just gonna assume you know all that 'cuz you're a 944 fanatic rather than a jake ryan or anthony michael hall fanatic. not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would have gone all in up to 2k. Those get better $$$$ for resell than a standard NA 8v 944. The only down side would be the title but I have found being honest about it with a book documenting the repairs with LOTS of photos goes a long way. If you were carful about sourcing parts (get them with the matching paint from the same year car) and the frame and the horn where the bumper absorber mounts was ok it would be a one day fix easy.
