HELP!
Running out of ideas here...
Just bought a nice well prepared 2009 Mini JCW.
Goal is to return to SCCA hillclimbs in 2021 season with plenty of track days in between
I'm coming from Spec Miata where the amount of information and race parts is almost overwhelming.
I have been searching for 3 months now and can't find much at all for the Minis.
Surely somebody is racing these things!
Can't find anything on how to do a proper AC compressor delete.
What about door window carriers for when the car is on the trailer?
Anyone?
Thanks
John
Perhaps reach out to Equipe Octane? They ran a R56 JCW in Pirelli world challenge back when they were new and might be a resource for some of the info you seek. https://www.facebook.com/EquipeOctane/
I’ve seen a few Minis in Champcar endurance racing.
Maybe try asking around on the Champ forum?
I haven't seen very many Minis racing. Even in Scca's b spec, the other brands are more popular.
A friend bought one to race at Nationals and the mini specialist in LA that he chose to build the motor couldn't deliver a reliable motor.
At a different nationals race, different car, different owner, I watched the owner frantically trying to get the car out of limp mode on the grid when the cars were about to start the race.
good luck with yours
We raced a 2005 Mini and a 2002 Mini back in the day.
More updates were printed in the magazine, but hopefully those links help.
Thanks all.
Odd - Out there somewhere is an entire series called The Mini Challenge.
Anyway - I posted and PMd EquipeOctane and hope for the best.
I have thought about doing something with mine, keep us posted on how you make out.
