For anyone of the Land Speed persuasion...(or just wants to help out another GRM family race effort)....there is an inaugural event to be held on the abandoned B52 runway on August 1 and 2. The runway is 2.5 miles and the timing will be done at the 1.5 mile mark.

We are planning on being there 7/31 for registration and tech inspection. If there is anyone in the area who would be willing to help us during the weekend, we would appreciate the support.

I was stationed there from 90-92. Good old Loring AFB. Its a 6 hour drive North of Portland. Drive till 95 deadends into canada and then drive another hour or two and you should be there. Camping shouldnt be to hard to find in the general area. The area is so remote you could probably just pull off the road and set up and nobody would look twice.

North of Presque Isle and Caribou? That's some serious Maine, right there.
