Was headed to my photography exhibit.
Did not make it there.
Was on Hwy 60, approaching I-75's overpass and changed lanes. Saw this too late to do anything about. Was right on the divider, took out both driver's side tires and (slightly) bent the rims.
So, anyone have some wheels I can borrow till insurance does their thing?
Was part of a transformer, I think.
What I hit
Mercedes Benz across the street hit this, ripped the oil pan out.
Sucked that you lost two wheels/tires but at least you didn't get your oil pan.

Right? I got extremely lucky. I also paid for the road hazard crap when I bought the car (I was lamenting that the other day, was unhappy I had been talked into it. Well jokes on them!)
So I'm probably ok, I just need to actually get the paperwork moving
In reply to Mr_Asa :
You know with the luck you're having with this one, have you regretted not buying a Fiat 124 Spider?

In other news, I already have an offer for a set of tires from a GRMer.
I berkeleying love this forum.
See if car-part.com has a wheel near you.

In reply to John Welsh :
Seems like there are some, but CL & FBM have fairly equivalent prices
Are you going to hang on to them and have them repaired?

In reply to MyMiatas :
Possibly. Not sure what insurance is gonna do or require. Also wouldn't mind a track day set.
Why is insurance involved? Was there body damage?
If road hazard replacess the tires, buying a wheel or two should be cheaper than your insurance deductible.

In reply to John Welsh :
I'm using insurance and road hazard interchangeably here. And it might be cheaper to do that, I haven't used this road hazard setup yet so I'm just trying to plan for whatever might happen.

I appreciate it, but I'm good for now.

Just lighting or the new ones silver vs black on the old? Those tires look to be in good shape also.

While I was searching car-part.com yesterday it gave me the option of "polished" or "black" for the 8-spokes. Now, I wouldn't call this polished in any sense of the word, but I'm thinking that this is the difference between them.

I kinda like the polished more on the car and I'm not a polished wheel type.
Cool, glad you got some wheels.
Flis Performance, the shop that builds the MX-5 Cars, usually has ND take-offs for sale.

They have a few interesting things for sale that they've taken off Miatas. Good resource, thanks.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to sit with them for a while and see how I feel. I definitely like them over the black wheels, but I dunno if it satisfies my need for a change over the wheels in general.
Definitely not complaining about the look of em, though!

I agree on both points. Glad you got this sorted out.

Note to self: next time I deal with something like this, take car up to shop. Dismount good wheels, put on bad wheels, drive around corner and let them deal with it.
Warranty trying to give me E36 M3 because the tires were next to the wheels, not on them and the wheels were next to the car not on them. "These didn't come from that Miata!"
Kinda sucks for them that I took so many pictures of the tires with the DOT code on them
