OK to mix and match float bowls on Holleys? Currently I have one with an adjustable float. Having trouble setting it correctly as the tab ton the float hat contacts the tip of the needle was bent by the previous owner and I'm not sure where the stock setting ought to be.

I have a nice clean float bowl from another Holley with a non-adjustable float that's works fine. OK to swap them?

Just a small drive-around engine, nothing special goin' on.

Thanks !

Then why not change out the needle and seat?

Already did.

Still not sure where the "stock" setting for the little tab on the float ought to be though. When I adjusted the needle/set like it was supposed to be adjusted, there was no movement in the needle, just bottomed out tight against the tab. When I adjusted the needle so that there was movement, the float was in the wrong position.

Needle and seat not the issue, the positioning of the tab on the float is.

I could play around with this all day, but I'd much rather just substitute a non-adjustable float/float bowl and work on the other one when I have more time, energy and less frustration, you know?

Right now I'd just like it done, and if a non-adjustable float will get me there, GREAT ! !

So, any opinion? Can I just swap floats/bowls and be shut of it, or is there a problem in doing so?

Thanks !
