Since Ricky at the Holley tech department is of no help (did you know wideband air/fuel meters are only useful for EFI, not carbs? ) I turn to you as I'm out of ideas (and jets).

Background: car is an E30 with a Ford 302, Holley 600 cfm double pumper on top. I had the car at VIR over the weekend and am still fighting a rich condition at WOT.

Stock jetting is 66 primaries 76 secondaries. That had me with an air/fuel ratio in the mid 9's. I worked my way down to 60/61 and was able to get a it in the 10.9-11.1 range, while picking up considerable power. At that point I was using the smallest jets I had. Part throttle and idle values are perfect, and throttle response is great. I am using squirters with the brass nozzle extensions, and I'm wondering if I'm getting fuel pullover from them?

What kind of timing are you running?

The squirters should have a number on them, that is their size.

My experience? Don't mess with the main jets. What air bleeds are you running? or do you even have changeable air bleeds? Vacuum secondaries or mechanical?

Air bleeds: less chance of burning your car down, less mess, easier to access.

Mains are usually in the 70-74 range with proper air bleeds.

That's my guess anyway . . . .

34* total advance, all in at about 2500 RPM. Squirters are 25 front, 27 rear- both have the nozzle extensions.

Carb has fixed air bleeds, and mechanical secondaries. Thanks.

What is your vacuum readings? I just wondering if the power valve is staying open all the time.

As to the timing what is the initial at?

12" vacuum at idle, with a 6.5" PV. If the PV was open all the time it wouldn't it flood out the idle and part throttle? I'm right in the 14's for air/fuel all the way up to about 1/2 throttle.

Initial timing is around 10*.
