Tour Auto is a rally where people don't try to run their cars into the ground.

The first few cars looked very out of place, they were not in their element. But the Alpine at 2:49 looked wonderful.

That's a great video, thanks for sharing.

Not too out of place. Ferrari 512S and Ford GT did run the Targa Florio in period.

I was wondering about that myself.  I think there was a Renault Alpine A310 in the mix that I'd never seen/heard before.  But I had to laugh that the guy in the MG had the cleanest line.

In spite of the lumpy pavement, that didn't seem like a terribly difficult corner, but it surprised me how much better the low powered cars did than the big guys.

Those cars have real history in the original Tour Auto.  Many privateer Fords GT40s ran in the day. Cobra Daytona coupes ran the original one year.

Is it me or was that some really BAD driving coming around that curve by some of the cars?

Amateur rally drivers without recce don't always take the ideal line.

I didn't know this was a recreation of a vintage race. I'll have to look that up.

Downhill braking into a narrow sharp corner with a giant bump in the middle and loose gravel kicked up on the surface. Not as simple as it looks, I think.

That's quite a variety of very nice machines!

Funny - I took screenshots of that very car. In my mind's eye it was a vintage predecessor of an Elise

Some of the driving was less than graceful for sure, but some of these Peter Auto participants are good, and all of them are seriously committed to the events. Peter Auto organizes several high end events for these cars. The clip here may be a transit stage, or not. Many of the timed stages are on permanent circuits. A significant number of the high end cars are tool room replicas. Consider the condition of the nose on the white E Type, they looked pretty cautious on this one...
