I listened to a lot of Car Talk with my Dad as a kid.  Good read, thanks for sharing.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Tom and Ray.

"There are so many ways you could ALMOST fix this"

Discovered them in the early 1990's.  I thought they were the best thing I'd ever heard on NPR.  I was right!

My Dad got me listening to them, I do miss that show.

Actually a decent article from Jalopnik for a change.  I found them when I first moved here on a recommendation.  They, and then NPR, in general, were a breath of fresh air after the usually dire radio stations.  Like the middle (2002 - 2014) Top gear they transcended cars to be a general entertainment / buddy show with a car themed window dressing who's reach went far beyond the subject matter fan base.

Loved listening to CarTalk.  Somehow that article left out one of my favorite phrases from the show - "unencumbered by the thought process."  I use that all the time. 

Never herd the show, but I read the article last night. Thought it was the best written piece on that site in a long time.

I remember listening to these guys in my mom’s car way back in the 90’s, Before I could ever drive. I always asked everyone in the car to be quiet so I could listen to these guys. They helped me become the car fanatic I am today. 

The most significant part was how much they loved each other.

Went and put one on while cleaning the kitchen. I still enjoy them, and thankfully all those years mean there are still quite a few new to me.
