The cap on the "nearly 30-year-old" OEM distributor in my Civic is filled with rusty brown dust. I guess that means it's time to look for a replacement, but I've heard aftermarket distributors aren't reliable.

Engine is a B18C1

I'd appreciate if anyone could share some knowledge on finding a reliable replacement, or if they can be rebuilt ...

Coil-on-plug would also be an option if there's a simple, reliable (& hopefully affordable) way to do it. TIA!

I vaguely know about these digital conversions, no idea on price,etc - but it might be something to look at.

Thanks for the link, that looks great but $900 USD ends up being +/- 1500 Cdn by the time it gets here ... that's more than I wish to spend on a distributor indecision
