Horizontally opposed boxer engine

I just saw an add for a new Scion that boasts "The world's first and only, horizontally opposes boxer engine!"

Aren't all boxer engines horizontally opposed?

I think if you listen to the next part of the sentence it says something like "with D4 direct injection..." or something to that effect.

yeah, people tend to not hear the stuff that might diminish their outrage..

So many people have no idea what a Boxer engine is that they add the horizontally opposed as a way to help people understand what it is.

I was just curious as to what I might be missing, and that was answered in the thread that was attached above.

I saw one at the yard sale down the road that was a flat 12.

There is a 30 second pause in the middle of that sentence. Come on dude.

when I hear opposed piston.. I think of the big navy diesels with two cranks that have the pistons coming together to squish the air and fuel into power
