would a guy need to fit an LS1 in a Subaru SVX?

.... Uh, you may be the first. :) I can't find nothing. Even the usual maniacs on the LS1 board haven't thought of this one.
I haven't found one either. Got a customer who bought one, after being told the sound of the piston hitting the cylinder head was a lifter rattle...
Well... there is no sense in having too little hood scoop now is there? If you have to have one - it should be huge. But, you know, tasteful...

I think I threw up a little because of that...
Might be easier to find a replacement engine though (yeah, I know, spoilsport), given that it's usually the transmissions that give up on those.

Actually have found 2 donors with bad boxes. This is a ...nice?...SVX, so if a guy were a bit strange, it would be worth fixing. I think he's a bit miffed about the engine in his pristine new to him car blowing up, so the decision is being delayed.
Subaru sells a fresh shortblock for $2700. If its a keeper, that might be the way to go, cause then you could justify spending the $2k on the trans when it blows up next week.
There's the AWD thing too. You'd end up having to either spend cash on a good AWD setup or go RWD only. Glass transmissions don't help either.
aerodynamics should not be taken lightly; adding some arbitrarily large hood scoop just leaves efficiency on the table so some other more logically conceived car can drag yours down the track and put it on the trailer.
