I am resisting the desire to address myself a loud front wheel bearing on the front of my 2008 Prius.

If I send it to a shop, how many book hours should I expect for this job?

2.5 hours, Alldata says.  That's quite a lot for a hub/bearing assembly.

If it's anything like a LS400 wheel bearing, 2.5 hours is cheap.

Who gets that imaginary 150%?  I certainly don't.  The dealership certainly doesn't.

Now, if you are saying that you can buy a Rock Auto bearing for 150% less than an OE one that might last an hour or two, Sure.

Streetwiseguy, my last experience  with a GM dealership to R&R a crank sensor on the 'V' cost me well over $700...and yes there was markup on the sensor....ok maybe not 150% but c'mon already......and no I will not be frequenting that dealership ANY TIME SOON !    Lesson learned the $$$$ way..sheesh
