Like many of you I'm sure, I have a ton of old car magazines, stickers, patches, hats, books, trophies, etc. from decades of playing with cars. What are some good ways to get rid of this kind of stuff? Can you sell old magazines and books for enough to make it worthwhile? I see stuff like this at swap meets and on eBay, but I don't know how to tell if things are actually selling. And who wants to deal with, say, Craigslist buyers over an item that is only worth a few bucks?
Suggestions?
I sell through eBay. Sometimes you get little - other times I get a lot
I have a lot of old Datsun literature that can bring money - I tell my wife to plan on selling it. She’ll toss it into recycling.
I'll buy the sticker lot from you.
send me a PM if interested.
I have a whole box of racing junk and patches from over the years. If I were to ever clear it out, I'd do it at a swap meet or Ebay.
Most of it's not worth the shipping charges so it's all not going anywhere. It's mostly oddities and stuff with interesting back stories. Some examples are I have Alonso's autograph from both Indy and F1 from the same year and I'll get it from his IMSA race here in a few weeks. I have the canard and fog light cover from the last pro race car that Ben Collins ever drove in the US and I think ever. A hero card signed by Davey Allison at his last test session at Talladega right before he passed. Winners hats from the PWC races at COTA a few years ago. I have a lot of hero cards signed from all of the pro races including interesting ones like the Patrick long Effort Racing one from 2016 PWC race where he only raced 3 times and from the same event, the card from Andrew Palmer before he left us at Lime Rock later that year.

Looks like my PM did not go through. You can contact me at fastdan5 at aol dot com
I will need to spread out the stickers and take some photos.
There is a guy upstate from me that does a giveaway every couple of months. Basically, he piles everything in the middle of his shop floor and posts on the SCCA FB pages to come get it. Doors open at 8 and close at 10. It's mostly stuff that is not worth the time and effort it would take to sell and not something you want to throw away. I'll be doing one this spring.

I've taken to donating the trophies to my local boy scout troop. They inevitably need to buy cool car trophies for the pinewood derby events so they are going somewhere to make a budding gear head happy. I typically post them up on craigslist for sale and when the scoutmaster shows up I send him home with whatever his car will carry.
Patches. Sell them to me.

Good idea. Come to think of it, I still have my Pinewood Derby trophies up in the attic. I suppose those inspired a budding gear head long ago.

Good idea for stuff that falls in that "I hate to just throw this away" category.
Put in blender, turn on high. LIQUIDATED.
