Box got sprayed in rhino liner at home which did not turn out that great but it will do as it is completely hidden. Waiting on 4 gauge and a few other small items to finish it up. Did not go all out on the sound deadening. Just enough to make a difference. I do need to pull the headliner and spray that in lizard skin and add a bit of deadening as well.

Still need to figure out the pods for the 6.5's and the run the RCA and power wires to the amps and its going to be tight.

This is the first day I just worked on projects around the house and truck and not for someone else. Got a bunch done.

I power washed the carpet and all of the soft surfaces I could get with the power washer truck actually smells nice. No more Vape and Ice Black freshener. Its all back together with just the left side of the truck race is open to run the wiring.

Wiring sucks but its relaxing somehow when its your own project. FYI back wall is completely deadened now. Truck is much quieter on the road. But it also has 200lb's of stereo and sound deadening in it now. It is noticeably slower or at least its queit now and I think it is.

143db on my meter with clear sound and no clipping. 40htz and some break in I should push 147-8 easy. That was at no adjustment from factory settings and no 6+ gain and ZERO tuning. .

It shakes the house. With the doors and windows closed it’s astonishing to have something that loud and that clear.  I am kind of shaking about it right now. Still don’t even have power to the door speakers and tweeters. They are still running off headunit.   Need more 4 gauge to finish it out and I need to do a much much better job on the wire tuck

Congrats on being a Lightning Owner Weary! Nice looking L btw, and jumping right in on MODs  I See, Ohhh the fun that awaits! lol.  I wanted to let you know, Our Stock internals are Good for up to about 500 HP. Just make sure whatever you do, you find a tuner that knows his stuff for one & 2, Any MoDs you do, make sure to add to the tune. First thing is to change all fluids and filters as well as spark plugs. NGK TR6 part # 4177 gapped at .034 are good to about 12psi of boost. Also, your stock rods will handle a #6 Lower Pulley no problem. I have a #8 on mine, making 12-14psi of boost but i also have a tune and an Outstanding Tuner. 2 things I would get before anything else are a Tune and a Wideband Gauge  and After THAT, Then you can start building the Horspower beyond stock. Get with J.J. @ Woodbine Motorsports, he sells a Wideband/Tune package & His Tunes include Lifetime Revisions at no extra cost. That is who does my tuning. That box you had made, looks just like the one MTX makes for our truck, MTX Thunderform 10" Sub Box & what I have. Love It! Feel free to ask me anything you want about these trucks if I can be of help, I will gladly do so. , I am actually doing my inerior upgrade also, I will post a pic or 2 if  i can figure out how, lol. good luck my friend!

Yeah my internals are not staying stock I figured that out real fast. Forged all the way soon once I get another DD I can use and the TVS2300 blower and about 16lb's of boost are now the plan.  Still thinking of just buying a built short block to save time its only a few hundred more then pulling it myself and having the whole thing assembled/balanced.  ~2400$ to get with shipping out on thw west coast. A 6lb puller would be great though if I could keep the block stock. I think that is enough power.

I looked everywhere for that box even called the manufacture to see if they could make me one. In the end I put a sub with almost 11 inches of depth behind the seats with no loss of leg room. Thinking about have the shop build me some more and then selling them for people who want to do the same thing.

You guys need one of these if you have the means it make an unholy noise with the high flow cats, exhaust and intake. Like setting car alarms off at idle down the street. nobody expects that noise out of a truck.

Man the lightning is gorgeous. I LOVE the side pipes.  I know the owner of the local bakery has the generation before yours (all square body), and he is original owner. GOt serious FAT rubber on the rear.  Is your generation vs the previous square generation - are they all pretty reliable? Any things to look for, before I go on a craiglist hunt?

Thanks

1st gens are very reliable. 2nd gen not so much if they are modified. They are ALL MODIFIED by the way. Mine just had bolt ons and was running stock boost which made it super rare.

The 1st gens tend to hve less miles for some reason. Most gen II trucks have 100-110K miles and they are almost all salvage titled for some reason.

The 2nd Gens are very reliable IF you just know it's limitations and a few things NOT to do. If you do go get one, and it is an 01, crawl under it and look ar the transmission data plate though. They had some bad trannys on the first ones, it would be a J-Code transmission. In March of 01 they caught it but there are still a few floating around. Guess what i ended up with, yep... A J-Code and it came apart. But i will ad, for a bad Transmission from the factory, it lasted 5 owners & 264,000 miles so i really cant whine about that. A few No-No's right off the top of my head, you never want to hit the rev limiter or you will overboost, so never do burnouts in 1st gear, do all you want in 2nd gear. Don't go WOT in OD, take it out of OD before you drop the hammer, the rods cant handle the shock of going from 4th to 2nd gear and will redesign your block with a new intake hole. Also, stock internals are only good for about 500hp, so it is imperative that if you do so much as a CAI you get a tune and a wideband. If you go WOT and it is lean, once again, the rods will redesign your block. Those are the things i can think of right off the top of my head. Weary is right though, talk about a Fun truck... Man alive it is a blast to drive! Have you changed you S/C oil yet? It should be done every 100,000 miles. Just get a big fat syringe with aquarium hose to pull the old oil out. Be sure to put it into a measuring cup and put the same amount back in. If you have never changed out S/C oil before, your nose is in for a real treat! My god, they must make that oil out of straight Pig E36 M3... Holy Crap it is the awfulest smelling stuff i have ever pulled from a vehicle! It's so bad that when i unscrewed the bolt and caught a wiff, i almost slammed the hood down and had the wife put a for sale sign on it... Geezus! P-U
