After buying anothe lot of gauges (for 1 particular piece), i realized that i now have amassed an entire bankers box FULL of aftermarket gauges.  Everything from vintage sun blue line tachs and fuel pressure gauges, to nos speedometers to nameless junk to more than a handful of vdo and ultralight autometers

I have no plans for most of the box. A full set is planned for the elky, a couple for the challenge cars, and a spare or three for diagnostics.  That leaves about 50 extras.....

I know some are worth real money, like the st-602 sun tach. Thats about 100 bucks on ebay, minimum. Others i cant even identify, but haven't really tried.

Whats the best way to research, market, and unload these? It would be nice to put some funds back in the kitty and even get the couple of gauges im missing for a full autometer sport comp set in the elky.

That's a tough one. Congratulations on the bulk-buy-for-1-piece! I would focus on the valuable pieces, and consider throwing in the "Nameless junk" ones just for the sake of getting rid of them. If local Craigslist isn't a fruitful option, I imagine there are people here (like me!) or on eBay that would like to have them.

For research I wouldn't know what to tell you beyond running a Google search.

Are you saying that you are interested in the valuabe ones, or the nameless junk?

And maybe here is as good a place as any to list them.

Go to the HAMB. They can help with the values.

I might be interested in some of them if the price is right.  Throw some of them up for sale here before tossing them on ebay.

I need a couple tachs and maybe a speedo, and if anything is old enough to look correct in the Devin I would like to see it

Cool. Ill see what time i get in the next few day, take a buttload of pictures, and put them up here. Im fairly certain that you guys wouldn't screw me on values, even though I dont know what some are worth.

Look on eBay under "completed auctions". That'll tell you what they're actually selling for.

I'm interested in the cheap junk, need a tach, oil pressure, coolant temp & fuel gauge. Preferably somewhat close to matching, but cheaper is better.

That VDO tach is something I might be interested in, especially if it'll run a 4 cylinder. When you're done at work/get some time shoot me a pM and let's talk!

I wish I could find deals like that! A few of those are definitely things that would be nice to have for updating the cluster on the Rampage to actually be useful.

there's gotta be a couple hundred $ in there.   i think those gauges with the "Sun" script will bring $ if they work (and if you're not keeping them for yourself).

I'd post on HAMB something like "hey i bought this box of stuff because i wanted _____ and now i have all these other gauges.   Anyone see anything they want/need?"  i'm sure people will reply with valuations etc.

then post individual pieces on eBay.

I like the tack with the digital display, or any other round tach.  How much?  Oh wait that's what you asked.

$50 for the digital, $25 for the non sun round one.  Of course only if no one has spoken for them already.

SW and autometer stuff may be deireable.  For reference I picked up 5" sun tach nib on ebay for $23 including shipping.  Summit 3 gauge op/w/amp is $37 new.  I've bought generic single wtemp on sale new for $9.

  YMMV

what would you want for 3 gauge summit?

List all the stuff you don't want on Craigs of 60% new or 80% Ebay Used Completed Sales and be prepared to drop your price 10%.  If it doesnt move on Craigs,  in a timeframe you are comfy with (weeks or months) then Ebay up till sold or no reserve auction depending on if your desire for less junk or more money is stronger.

If the Hamb has a good classifieds section, I would list on there for Ebay pricing, not cheaper, since essentially more work with less seller protection unless you can do cash in person.

Digital tach is actually a full standalone gauge panel for motorcycles that supposedly reads up to 12 cylinder engine.

I'd be interested in one each of the white-faced oil pressure & water temp gauges to match the boost gauge I have, but given the ones I have now are from HF and cost under $15 after the coupon that may be hard to beat.

Though if I could get a semi-matching (i.e., all similarly faced- white or black) set of a boost gauge, water temp, and oil pressure for $20 that would be on par with what I have currently...

Sounds perfect for adding lightness to a racecar.
