I was grinding welds and may have strained/torn a rotator cuff (lifting a 5 lb. sledge?). Tough call, but I'd rather be you. Brian Johnson sounds like a good guy to hang out with.
Back In Black was our teen-angst anthem back in high school.

Well now...
Tim Suddard said: Then I get an email, that explains that a private jet is picking the evening's speaker, Brian Redman up in nearby Vero Beach, and that if I could be at the Vero Beach airport at 11:30am, they would love to take me along and host me for the weekend. They needed to make one stop in Sarasota to pick up Brian and Brenda Johnson and then we would be off to Chattanooga.
Awesome...
It gets even better... I just got invited to drive his Cobra powered Lola at Sebring for a Classic Motorsports story!!!
And Joe TR6, I went through the whole torn rotator cuff a few years back. Very painful, but I have mostly recovered.
Well... Saturday I ripped down plywood sheeting I installed 25 years ago at the folks house to install drywall in it's place. Then Sunday morning I spent at the emergency room with the wife. Got her home by 1pm, got her prescriptions filled, made a grocery run, woke her up every 6 hours to pump her full of antibiotics and got almost no sleep.
Other than that, not much going on.
My weekend was "pick up a cheap Toyota MR2 with someone else's money, truck, and trailer" weird, but not "Hang out with the singer of AC/DC while downing copious amounts of booze on a private jet while planning charity events" weird.
I think you win this one.
Tim Suddard wrote: I am very blessed. To have one experience like this in a lifetime would be amazing. This sort of stuff seems to be happening more and more often. I just wish I had the time to say yes more often. It is also real easy to forget that you are not of that world. Thankfully, Margie is very good at reminding me and keeping me grounded. AC/DC goes on tour starting in the spring, and I was offered front row tickets and backstage pass access. I will definitely be doing that. I think we will auction or raffle off (for Alzheimer's) a couple of the tickets.
I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for that auction/raffle- I'd both love to see the concert and like little more than to see Alzheimers wiped off the face of the planet after seeing what it did to my Grandfather.
As for my weekend? Well I put a new floating floor in my soon to be completed family room, movie and entertainment room. .. . . The weird part was it actually all went to plan and I still have all my digits attached to my hands and it actually looks better than I expected. No real car related weirdness. Oh I know I was offered a 06 CTS with 64k for cheap$$$ Still on the fence about it. It is the V6 and I have head there can be issues with those. But I have 5 running driving cars in the driveway at the moment. Hummmmm
Tim your weirdness is much cooler!!!!
What a rad story...kinda always wonder what it be like to be Wayne and Garth catching up with Alice backstage. Thanks for helping fill in some of the details!
Sounds a lot cooler than my eekend from hell...dont want to go into details, but it is going to involve a lot of cleanup by a professional crew (and no hookers in the trunk were involved...booo).
On the plus side of the weekend, WHODEY!

So, we all have been looking forward to some sort of GRM Buddy-Show that could top Hot Rod's Roadkill. The answer may be more Classic than GRM but I see Brian and Tim jetting off to visit friends. A stop at Jerry's Porsche warehouse (and maybe some coffee.) A drive with Dave in his Volvo. Time spent with the other talk show guy in another episode.
I most look forward to the all Aussie Ute episode shot downunder while there also shooting the all Bathurst episode.
Down with "Roadkill". Up with "The Highway to Hell!"
Tim Suddard wrote: When Brian Johnson got on the flight, he said, “well, we have a cooler full of wine behind us and a cooler full of beer in front of us, so it looks like it is going to be a good flight mates!
Were there also any comments about...
Poker in the front and liquor in the rear?
Driven5 wrote: What's next?...Tim showing up on Top Gear to drive a reasonably priced car?
that would be epic and I suspect he'd do quite well after making some "adjustments" heh.
How much negative camber can you get in the front of one of those?
Well, I met James Brown briefly back in 1986.
Greg Norman gave me a Range Rover.
I still really, really envy your weekend & drive invite.
AC/DC's Back in Black is still one of my favorite albums (trying to hang onto my high school days!).
How about a link somewhere on the GRM and CMS websites to the Highway to Help donation page?
Know what would be really cool?
If Brian Johnson would agree to be one of the Parc Expose judges at next year's Challenge!
