Hrrrmmm... well, it's started

I have successfully infected my girlfriend. No no no, not that, there's a reason it's in this section.

She's been driving the Escort, and has adopted it, and has made it her project car.

We've been doing little things, like suspension, cleaning up the interior and customizing it a little bit, installing a nice stereo, about to order some wheels for it, etc etc etc...

She's now decided that it needs to be faster. Which is amusing to me, because yeah, it's not fast, but it IS quick for what it is, and is miles faster than my Celica.

"Do you want a turbo?" I ask.
"Hrmmm... no."
"Then how do you want to go faster?"
"Well, you were talking the other day about the KLZE motor, and how it's a common swap in MX3s. And i know that we've pulled MX3 parts for the Escort, and i'm pretty sure you've said that they share the same chassis."
"Oh boy..."
"I youtube'd 'KLZE'. I want one."

So here we go.

I just scored 90% of the swap parts for dirt cheap. The last thing i have to decide is if i want a Millenia "KLZE" or the JDM hi-po version.

I need to add this car to reader's rides.

Looks like i'll be searching for another DD again this spring.

It's a shame my gf's car isn't modifiable (Mazda6 auto), but we've already discussed that if we get married down the road, she'd be happy to drive a boosted NA Miata.

We're both in college. If I had money, that thing would be dropped on some nice wheels with an exhaust. If it's not going to be fast, it should at least be sexy.

First thing on the agenda if/when I marry her. That car's getting the boot, and it's being replaced by a boosted Miata. I just don't have a say in the matter right now.

If you don't have a say now, you definitely won't after you're married!

And this is why, both cars are in my name If I get bored, maybe one gets dissappeared and turned into a better car. I keep thinking the MINI should be an STi, but the wife disagrees.

If you have a serious car problem(not a bad thing), marry a girl who shares at least a few of the tendancies. My wife of 29yrs had to drive my modified miata into town during a car work day when hers was blocked in. She came back and authorized me to do whatever was necessary to hers to make it run as well. Jackson Racing CAI and header and 2.25 exhaust system satisfied her.
She drives the MS6 with the Corksport modifications now as her DD.
Yeah, I will keep her.
