So I changed my oil and took the oil in and I just realized that I gave them the extra oil clean oil that was in the 5 quart bottle and kept the old oil.

I ran over 2 1gallon jugs of mobil 1 in my dad's garage years ago. He asked me not to change my oil in his heated garage any more.

I might be able to beat these. The first time I changed oil in my wife's brand new Passat, I drained the automatic transmission fluid instead of the oil. I realized I'd removed the wrong drain plug pretty quickly, but I'd already drained it enough where the transmission was slipping when I tried to move the car. The Passat has a closed system for the transmission, so I had to call a flatbed to take it to the dealer to refill it.

First VR6 oil change. Removed the canister drain, drained into pan, changed the filter, bolted `er all back up and refilled the crankcase. The same crankcase I neglected to empty because I was so used to opening one bolt on the bottom. Now I have 12 liters of dirty oil, and had to call somebody to take me to Autozone for clean oil and more drip pans.

I pulled the plug on a 30 quart truck with a 5 gallon drain bucket before. We are all human, I think, and we all do something stupid. Now we just have a better venue for telling others how stupid we are.

I ran over a quart of Mobil 1 in front of the Garage Majal. Talk about feeling dumb...

A bud bought a 911 and decided to change the oil. He bought a drain pan, 5 quarts of oil and a filter. Those of you who know 911's know what happened next. I think it was about two years before his driveway quit 'rainbowing'.

Yeah, the 911 does carry a bit more oil than the normal car.

Even when you're prepared to change the oil in a 911, you're not prepared.

Hahahaha! I love the post-it note.

My 964 is actually pretty easy - I don't get all that splatter... but the 1st time I did it I only knew about 2 of the 3 drain plugs so... I drained 11qts and added 13. DOH. Talk about a smoke machine.

Ummm... yeah. Many people with overheating 944s are surprised to learn about the 2nd thermostat.

They usually sell them and enter therapy right after they do the clutch.

You drive a '96 Civic, according to your handle. That proved you were an idiot long ago.

According to my handlle, I drive a '95 Neon. That proves me an idiot as well.

I'm not going to say I never poured new oil into a recycling container: I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid enough to tell that on myself, brother.

Idiots we may be, but try to catch us at the autocross track..

I've learned that flat spots are bad, and that good tires aren't cheap.
