IIRC they produced just a handful before Pontiac went away. It's a real shame. I think there's someone on the forum who has/had one.

I'd love to see one with a Sky nose to get rid of the Bugs Bunny teeth.

Super rare.  Super collectable.

In short, by the time this was released GM had already announced the demise of the Pontiac Brand.  The demise of Saturn had been announced too so this marked that there would be no more Solstice/Sky twins.  Very few were produced for one model year only (not even the full year.)

I bet that thing is easy to see out of.  I think they sold something like 650 of those total.

I think it's too bad that platform wasn't kept around for something beyond the Sky and Solstice.  Baby Corvette and all that.  Then again there's only so many MX-5-alike cars that seem to be sellable at once.

I don't miss the days on Miata.net where everyday was  a Solstice/Sky thread....

I rather have a Prowler or a Z3M S54 Coupe

Ask and ye shall receive. Darren "D-Mac" Macnamara ran a gnarly LS-powered Saturn Sky Coupe in Formula Drift for a few years. Sadly it got destroyed in a bad crash at Long Beach.

We had one as a press car. Super cool looking. Not great for backing out of angled parking spots, however. Still, looks cool.

Its too bad these cars (Solstice and Skys in general) are wretched POSes. I remember being so hyped on these and then the first time I got to drive one when I started working for GM, I walked away disgusted. Soooo disapppointing.

IIRC Mr. Penske tried purchasing the platform rights from GM to produce his own car on it and GM backed out of the deal at the last minute. Truly a shame.

That roofline looks way better than the soft top. I always thought the convertible top on the Sky was awkward looking and ruined the otherwise decent aesthetics of the car.

One followed me from Louisville to Cincinnati last week, it was the Saturn version in black and I was thinking it had aged well.

That was my experience after test driving one. I was really interested. That changed about 45 seconds in.

To be fair, the one I drove was a turd, but even if it wasn't I don't think I would matter. Underwhelmed was the word that came to mind.

The coupe is cool and all, but you could but the ark of the covenant for less. I get rarity, but for new Corvette money? No thanks.

The lack of interior space (I can barely drive a stick one because my leg is jammed against the dashboar yet I'm perfectly comfortable in a Miata) goofy top that destroys all trunk space, and buzzy, uninspiring drivetrain make it irredeemable. It's like driving a small, low-slung tractor. It's like an engineer thought "coarse" was synonomous with "sporty" and fired the entire NVH department. It's too bad because on paper it has the goods (2800lb RWD 2-seat roadster with a 260hp turbo-4 and Nurburgring-tuned suspension), but in actuality, all of it's major competitors are just so much better.

That one is a turbo GXP. 260 hp. Manual.

If anyone is interested, they are asking $24,900.

It's in Lexington SC. Not exactly a hot spot for oddball sports cars, so I'll bet they'd come off that price.

A guy in our autocross club has one of these with a Z06 engine and supercharger. 650 hp is ridiculous for an autocross car. But, the thing hauls ass.

I think all the Coupes were GXPs, but I'm not certain. Also, that price is honestly low for what I see these going for. I see a lot of them for sale for $38-40k.
