So, probably not a big achievement for most of you guys on here, but the fleet barely made it though the week and I had a triumphant day today.
1st, jag was down with a front wheel bearing failure. I took off the hub last week and had it to a buddy's shop for them to press in and out the bearings. I got the hub back last night, so it wasn't too bad to button it all back up. It also now sports snow tires, so if you remember the other thread hopefully the jag will be way better for the rest of winter.
2nd, both the doors on the minivan needed to be disassembled, lubed, and reassembled. There is another thread on it, but the problem went from intermittent to almost constant this week, and with the jag on stands and with the Saab a ticking time bomb (more on that later) this became quite annoying for my wife to have to drive 45 minutes to work and back all week with a door that mostly won't close.
3rd, the (ticking time bomb) Saab. Like a true idiot, it took me three tries to figure out that if I am replacing fuel hose inside the tank I need to use submersible fuel hose. I kept having fuel pressure issues when the boost would come on (but only a few weeks after changing the hose - it would work great right after I changed it), because the hose was degrading in the tank. So the Saab was kinda sorta drive able, but stepping on it hard would cause blinking cel and knocking like crazy due to low fuel pressure. Also, I was afraid the hose would completely lose it and I would be stranded. So wifey was not driving the Saab to work. I realized this week that I needed submersible hose, so today my project was to pull the pump, swap hoses, and replace.
Everything has been test driven, wheels have been torqued, tire pressure and washer fluid checked, and the fleet went from 3/4 of a minivan and half a Saab to three fully functional cars. Thats a big day for me. Woohoo!
