I have taken a Motorsports management class in 2015 for the first time. Last fall I was offered the class again for free to sit on. This spring I got an email that there offering the class again and the co-teacher was going to Al Unser Jr this time. I just had to send an email asking if I could sit in on one class session for one simple reason, I had to see if he remembered the 2015 challenge and pulled that issue out to show. He did not remember me at all, but he did remember the event very well and my explaining how I meet him then. It was fun to chat for a few minutes with him about him and him telling everyone about his point of view on going to the event.

I know I have not been active on here a lot lately..sigh. I do have to get my butt in gear to get ready for a Demo derby at the local fair next month and get a car built. The first time thinking about this for the first time in 20 years.

I heard he had a lot of good things to say about the livery on the Mumpkin Unsocialized that year, which I did a lot of the graphic design on cool

He was super cool and spent a bit of time reminiscing with me at the $2000 Challenge about the Cleveland Grand Prix. Apparently turn 1 was just as crazy and exciting inside the car as it was watching from the stands as cars went 4-5 wide and had to mush down to single file

That race was the highlight of the CART calendar every year. I miss it dearly.

If you haven't had a chance to read Little Al's autobiography, I recommend it. He's very honest about his struggles with addiction and such. It seems like he's in a good place in his life now.

Dad and I went to every one starting in 85 or 86. Just recycled my programs from all of them last year I think. The PPG pace cars used to drive around town the whole week.
