The new one with 292hp 2.0L Turbo. Even stock they are properly quick and with a tune apparently get down in 3.9-4.0 region for 0-60.
Of course, I can't buy one now and by the time I'm ready toward the end of next year, maybe I'll have found a way to dig up the change for RS3.
Just thinking out loud.
My wife wanted one but lack of a manual option killed it. She bought a used MX-5 for a third of the price and I could not be happier.

In Europe and Canada, we apparently get a "variant" version that is essentially a wagon golf R with manual and awd. I guess only a tune puts these things at 400tqs!

Me likey those as well.
My thought was getting back into a car that has real back seats, I'm short and my seat almost touches the back seat in the BRZ.
And something a bit more posh and sophisticated.
I made the mistake of test driving a 2012 500 Abarth over the weekend. I have been looking at Autotrader nonstop.

+1 for the Golf R.
I've heard rumors we "might" get the R version of the wagon. It's still a longshot and I won't hold my breath, but VW is considering it depending on how popular the Golf R and standard Sportwagon are.
As far as the S3 goes: no manual = not even on the radar.
DCT w/launch control > Manual

Reach down between your legs, grab your googlies and squeeze them really hard. You will forget all about wanting to own an Audi.
I'd buy an R wagon as long as I could get it in 6MT...

I don't know, really not in a place to make a move like that just yet anyway.
If you're interested though, I could deal picking up a cheap little run around car for the time being.

The revised title should be shortened to:
"I have a desire for an Audi."
Since it is redundant to include the word unhealthy.
