In reply to stroker:

You're not wrong, necessarily. "For the right person" is the operable phrase. No pics under the hood, so who knows what lurks there. Or what lurks under that shiny paint.

A bit of an oddball being a '73 with earlier seats, windshield, etc. Though most of that looks better than the original bits would. No working top, apparently.

Maybe not a good deal with all that said, but with some negotiation, a fair one.

Looks very good to me. Like Basil said, this one is a puzzler. RWA car is desirable. Has aftermarket higher quality wheels. Isn't that a Sprite grill? Looks like no top at all.

I'm more of an MGB guy, but this looks pretty good for the price. If the engine compartment is as well-sorted as the rest of the car appears to be, this could be worth having.

They are fun little cars. The short wheelbase means tiny turning circle. Looks to be worth a test drive.

Worst thing about Midgets, as well as Spitfires, is they are so small they become invisible to other drivers. They also have a tough time keeping up with modern traffic, especially the smaller bore ones.

looks good in the pictures, but don't they all? Don't recall a Midget having that big parcel shelf behind the seat, but with no top I guess it's right.

Looks pretty decent, except for that slightly odd looking "tail up" stance. I saw one of these just last week in St. Augustine at a car repair shop....it didn't look as nice as this one and figured it was just as well that the shop in question was closed for the weekend as I've had my share of small British roadsters.

Price is decent, and while it depends on what's under the hood, you have to think that someone who lavishes this much attention on a small car's looks, probably doesn't skrimp all that much on the mechanicals.

Glad it's not closer to me.

If it's anything like the pictures, that's a steal. I really like the low back seats, the tail lights (did the same thing to my '69), and the interior "leather" color really fits. Nicely done.

The way they have removed the top, it looks like they are trying to do a hot rod theme. Glad they didn't go with flat black. I would really love to see the engine.

It's quite the oddball. A 73 RWA Midget made to look like an early MKI Midget. Seats and windshield is off a MKI Midget. MKI Midgets didn't have folding tops, assemble on the car so that probably why they removed the top. Midgets have a parcel shelf behind the seat, usually not noticeable with higher backed seats. Didn't go to the extremes of removing door windows or external door handles. Neither of which a MKI Midget had. Open door by reaching in and door windows are removable side-curtains. Nor did he replace the grill with the chrome vertical bars that the MKI has, kept the MKV grill. Looks like he was going for the early Midget look.

How I learned this trivia? I have a MKI Midget in the garage. Some PO tried to make a MKI Midget look like a MKV Midget. Didn't know a MKI windshield would fit a MKV body although not surprising.

I like the look it has, very clean/classy. Assuming the rockers haven't been eaten by tin-worms and filled with putty, it looks like it'd be a pretty good driver with a few tweaks.

As for the door windows, looks to me that they removed them and actually welded over the top of the doors? Or is that just camera trickery?

Oh how I wish I had my MkII Sprite (MkI Midget) still. I had it for 2 years and never got it on the road, so I still have a hole in me from never getting to drive one.

The windshield is not from a mkI. It's a Mark III and later. Fully capable of accepting a folding top. The MKI and II have exposed screw heads and is just overall different and less substantial in the frame department.

I restored a MkII from a rollback wrecker full of parts and a grease spot. While it's small, mine is most assuredly not slow. It's making the better part of 100hp and it weighs about 1300#.

The business w/ the tops of the doors is odd. I say there's enough sidescreen cars that if you want a bugeye but with a proper trunk, buy one of those.

I had a 5 yr old Midget in 1970. Was a fun little car, but this was before radial tires, and the tiny bia-ply tires were dangerous except for a sunny day. Always wondered what it would feel like updated some.

Wow. Pretty car, especially considering what he's asking.

What I know about MG Midgets: They are small.

I would love to buy it, but then I'd have a midget and a dwarf. That sounds bad. I could park both of them and my mini in one parking spot.

Your right, the window opening in the doors have been filled and wing windows removed. I was going by the fact he left the window hand crank on the door.

Actually, you're both right. In some pictures the door tops are covered and in others they are not. Dumping the window mechanisms adds lightness, though keeping the cranks and pictures with the door openings open may indicate indecision.

FWIW, I vintage race a '73 Midget.
