I'm in the planning stages of what I want to do with my 960 that has a bad head gasket. I need a good forum that will have decent tech on the internals of the straight 6 engines.

I would like to put an S80 T6 twin turbo in the car, but I already have a bunch of spare NA parts (like 2 spare engines worth). I was wondering what the differences are between the NA and turbo engines so I can decide if I want to buy either:

1) an entire S80 T6 engines (or maybe an entire car) 2) a head with the manifolds and turbos 3) just the manifolds and turbos

I'm thinking that the engine internals that are already in there are pretty decent because they can last half a million miles with regular oil changes, but I'm not sure if the compression differences between the engines are in the pistons or head.

OK, I found a good place to start

There's another guy on Turbobricks, Captain Bondo, who is quite knowledgeable about these engines. He has a T6 cranked up in a 245.

The second generation inline six has many detail changes from the one in your 960. A lot will carry over, however.

The biggest differences between the turbo and non-turbo versions are: bore size (slightly smaller in the turbo), static compression ratio (turbo has piston bowls) and what cam has the variable phasing gear on it (NA varies the intake cam for a broader torque curve, turbo varies the exhaust cam for better emissions.)

At any rate, you're probably better off scrapping plans to use the teeny stock turbos and just go for a single, bigger unit on a custom manifold.
