So, I'm looking to have some parts stripped (dipped) for me. It's just too labor intensive to do it myself. I can't seem to find a place near me (48430). Can you help me find a business that I can drop a part off near me?
A coworker found one shop, but they said their solvent will eat the solder. Is that going to be the case all around?

What kind of parts?

You may want to have them blasted with walnut media or something instead.

You might try a place that does chrome or galvanizing. They should have a acid bath they can dip it in. The only one Google shows is in Redford, MI.

You might still have a problem with solder dissolving.

Edit: Looks to be about 50 miles from you.

It's a self-contained marine A/C system. I tried blasting the condenser with black majic. Wouldn't TOUCH it! And it clogged the evap fins.

I fear the solder issue is going to make it so I have to do it myself. What a pain!

Personally I would try pine-sol. works wonders for aluminum. I don't think it would hurt solder. I buy it by the gallon. Soak it for a few days then blow off with compressed air.
