I would like to find a smart car chassis without damage to the monocoque. A lunched engine and or transmission is fine. Preferably under 1k.

Martin's in West Point, IN has/had a Smart chassis sitting outside their shop for a long time. Haven't been by in a few years, but I'd guess it's still there. I didn't see any damage driving by, and I looked - every. single. time. - because GRM.

Their # is 765-572-2437. I know it's quite a distance from you, but I think it'll fit in a large flat-rate USPS box.

I found a yard near by that has one, I'm going to check it out this weekend. A local friend suggested that I nuke the budget and go Honda J series modeling it off of the minitec kits and contacting them for assistance with development and possibly purchasing of somega components that may possibly fit. All of that is obviously a ways away after I have the monocoque stashed away and Mazda completed
