There's a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis for sale near me. I drive past it on my way to church, on my way to my fiancée's house, on my way to the hardware store... For some reason I think it's cool.
I really shouldn't have stopped to look at it cause it's in great shape. Also, he keeps dropping the price.
Can someone explain to me why I am drawn to this 80s land boat? Also, tell me all the reasons I shouldn't. I don't really have the cash for it but I caught myself thinking about selling the BMW
Do it. It's a Panther with a 5.0. Bonus points if you decide to turn it into a daily drifter.
I drove an immaculate, black TWO DOOR 1984 Grandma's Keys.
I'd love to have that back!
And because Men in Black (Crown Vic).
Hey, there is a lot to be said for a big, soft, quiet, safe, comfortable car that is simple and cheap to work on. I love sports cars and winding roads, but most of my driving time is spent going straight down the highway or creeping along in traffic.

I bought a 2009 MGM less than a year ago and rather surprisingly it has turned into the go-to car, as a friend said its just an easy solution.
What colour is the 1988 MGM your looking at? Or better yet got pics?

Panther goodness is good.
Because ultimate lounge lizard...
I miss my crown vic, probably my favourite out of everything I owned.
You should buy it. While i prefered my 81 2 door marquis my 85 ls was still a great car. They do get some weird lift at 120.

This is a good point. My commute:
Plus if you ever need to tow something (probably on the lighter side of things?) you have that capability. I know yesteryear I've seen that vintage pulling boats and such.
OH, that mud flap goodness!
I bet some old guy took REAL good car of that, probably has a whole folder full of records. I vote you go for it.
My Father had an 88. Light Blue with a white roof and dark blue crushed velvet interior... a "waterbed on wheels" as my mom called it
Well, I'm convinced. But... I'd have to convince the future-wife (getting married on Saturday) to let me use some of the wedding gift $$ to drag an old car home. You guys are going to get me murdered.

Use it as the wedding car!
I drove by and it was gone. Sad, but I'm still alive.

The BMW is the wedding car. Limited slip=wicked celebratory driftyness in the gravel church parking lot
set good precedents. the first three or four cars I randomly showed up with at home got me in a lot of trouble. 17 years later she hardly even notices.
