I won! Woohoo!

I went drag racing tonight (bracket - 1/4 mile) with ThunderCougarFalconGoat's GTO and won! Woot!

13.4 @ 106 if anybody wants to know. Cut a .015 light in the final and had a .0177 margin of victory.

It's my 3rd overall race win so it's still pretty special to me.

And an autocross tomorrow, that makes up for last weekend.

Just happy and felt like sharing.

13.4 with that beast is quite an accomplishment, although I am sure you have done a bit to get it there. What were your times before you started modifying? I'll guess low 16's.

Ooops, I missed that part. 13's with a new GTO is nice but not unexpected. 13's with a P71 would be more interesting.

Lolz! Yeah, I've had the GTO for the weekend. It's best time is a 13.09 @108.5 dead stock. Last night I was running 13.6's@104 in elimination rounds and a couple of 13.4's@105 afterwords. Not as much traction as the low-13 nights.

The P71 does 14.8's @95. It's getting new rubber and wheels and maybe some other stuff so I'll see if it has low-14's in it. I won the Season Championship with it last year with two race wins and a runner-up.

Autocrossing was fun. Shoulda drove the RX-7 though, it would have been much faster. I was instructed to kill these tires though, and I did.

Funnily enough, I think I figured out what happened. The 1/8 mile doesn't look all that stellar (13.35, about a 2.5 tenths breakout, same as the other guy). I think when I slammed on the brakes in the final (to run a 13.47@87) the nose of the car broke the beams instead of the tires!

Either that or the car really is starting to get fast as all get-out on the top end charge. Calculator says an 8.77@82.5 in the 1/8 is a 13.73@102 in the 1/4 yet it ran a 13.49@104?!?!

I've been looking at the slips all night and defending myself to the runner-up (who's in a LOW 12 second car!!!). It did start trapping a LOT higher throughout the night. Started off in the 102's and ended deep into the 105's. Maybe I blew all the carbon and cobwebs out?

Still nowhere near the 106-108 norm.
