Hey, I was thinking of a cool Road Rally. I would call it the Orange to Orange Rally.
195 miles, google maps estimates it at 4 hours 25 minutes.
Runs the Dragon and has some nice roads.
What is everyones opinion?

Technically not on the tail of the dragon but near it, but dayum, that is during the return trip from BABE, I wonder how they would feel about being invaded by cars of questionable quality.
This is sort of in the same area: http://www.cokertirechallenge.com/
We ran it two years ago, although I don't see any info for 2011 posted. We had a great time, and the people were very nice. Hopefully it comes back. It's aimed at older cars, but technically there's no age cutoff. We ran it in the 911. We might have been the only ones with a/c. I kinda felt guilty about that as spent a lot of time in heavy rains.
that actually seems like a great route I have my own tour route that loops back to chattanooga from that area taking backroads the whole way. Just make it available to new cars and I am in I don't own a legit classic.
Hey, good idea. My son, my nephew, and I are working on doing just such adventures this summer. We are in Strawberry Plains, the other (read: Bad) side of Knoxville. I work about 5 miles from the dragon. Let me know if I can help. Our summer rally is planned through Sneedville, Rugby, Jamestown.

I drove that route (or something similar) when my wife was pregnant with our first chasing a hurricane (don't ask)
We define that as our lucky day.
1st got pulled over going into clevleand (outside of Chattanooga) doing 17 over the speed limit, down hill (72 in a 55) by a state trooper. I COULDN'T FIND MY LICENSE! He let me go with a verbal, walking back to his car I found it in my cargo shorts pocket.
2nd Went to Texas road house in Chattanooga and they forgot our order and comped the whole thing for free and bought both deserts. (no booze and still around $40.)
Last, I decided to buy a lottery ticket in Georgia, won 5 bucks on a scratch off.
Lucky day.

HAH! You are about 20 miles down the road from me. I am in Morristown on the West end in Alpha!
As far as the cars, I was going to make it open.
Have a 1,2,3 in MC and Cars overall. then have oldest car (not restored) with time (can not win 2 awards at once.) Oldest bike etc.
I think the best would be the fans vote least likely to make it.
I wasn't think of a timed rally, nothing quite that serious. I want this to be fun, something the guy in the porsche 959, can go against the guy in the lowered truck.
Maybe a set time by an unknown person the morning of the race, and who ever is closest wins.
