Annoyingly. Roadkill is still monthly while every other show rotates in seasons. Frankly I would prefer the old way. Rotating in seasons is tolerable. But the fact that they won't choose annoys me.

If it allows Freiburger time to be with his family I'm all for it, if the stories about his absurd schedule can be believed. Heck, if it increases the quality of everything I'm all for it, especially Dirt Every Day (whom I totally agree with NickD on).
I'm reading this thread thinking, "how do people here have the time to watch (and complain about) these TV shows, yet have time to work on their own project cars." I suspect that my thinking is flawed.

I watch them on my lunch break. My project car runs, drives and is better than ever.

Usually at dinner time. My wife isn’t much for working in the garage, but she enjoys the shows, too.

So I take it you spend 24 hours a day working on your project cars? Looking down your nose at others because they happen to watch a video now and then isn't very becoming.

Hot Rod Garage has become much better. Lucky is the unsung hero of the entire RK fimily, IMO.
I think Tony is pretty great too.

I like them both quite a bit. I think Hot Rod Garage (and to some extent Roadkill Garage) has the advantage of not having to go start to finish on a project in each episode, so they have freedom to not cut the corners that happen in Roadkill or FwF. Dirt Every Day seems to straddle a line between the two styles, with less urgency than Roadkill, but not the time to complete a project that HRG has.
I like them all because (for the most part) they don’t have the fake drama most reality car shows have.

Definitely a great guy. Frankly they all are. I just think the talent here is stronger....even on the short timelines.

I can't stand his "I'm a dumb yokel" act. I know it's an act, that goofball persona he puts on. Pet peeve.
In reply to ebonyandivory :
Fred is as genuine as it gets.
At UA 2004, I was trail wrangling, and needed to move the vehicles up to make room for the rigs that still hadn't made it through "Jimmy's Crack", the first obstacle on the trail. Pewe was still at the obstacle, cheering on the guys still driving through, getting copy for the magazine, and getting camera time for the video... Fred was of course younger at the time (he was really new at P4WOR, but he was concerned that he would get in trouble for "Driving the boss's rig" 50 yards up the trail and I had to convince him that it was okay, telling him "If you break anything or hit a tree, we'll just say that I jumped in and drove it" He moved the truggy without any mishap, but the rest of the day's trails did so much damage to the Ultimate Taco that it looked like a taco. That was the first time I met him, and he was the same guy I still see in the videos today.
Side note: I knew Pewe wouldn't have cared one bit from my previous experience prerunning the trails in the park with him and Tom "TNT 4x4", the trailmaster to the park late into the night a few months earlier with the then new Wrangler X in my Avatar and Tom's battered Tin Top Samurai, getting stuck in the middle of the park wedged into ravines in thick mud and dragging winch cables hundreds of feet, Rick laughing all the time. He was genuinely concerned when I started passing blood and clots when I urinated that night, however, and also sent Tim Hardy back to get me at the end of the day of the event because he was concerned I wouldn't be able to get back to base camp on foot.
There really isn't much time or prep for most of these guys to be anyone but who they are, which is for the most part, magazine writers. The ones with the most affected personalities onscreen are the ones who have spent the most time and effort where they would have a chance to develop that sort thing.
I like Frieburger and Finnegan a fair bit after meeting both of them. Finnegan was visibly disappointed by my D350 though. That thing was pretty disappointing so I'll give him that.
In reply to Cooter :
I believe I alluded to his on-screen persona. The one where he pretends to be a goof-ball bumpkin. I firmly believe he's not that way in real life. I just can't stand the act. I'm sure he's a nice guy.
The "expelled" grade I gave him was tongue-in-cheek.
