I have wanted to build challenge car since 2002 when I picked up the challenge issue at a book store randomly. About a month ago I got a killer deal on a 2001 buick reagal GS, I can make it to FL this year and I can't think of a good reason not to do it so...

My build so far $300.00 for the car $4.00 one gallon of gas for a 15 mile tow $33.64 for one dorman A/C delete shiped to my door $9.00 FMV one bottle of GM supercharger oil $20.00 FMV on some wax???

$366.64 spent $1645.36 left

Pics coming soon

lol definite contender for "luxuriest car in the challenge" award! Despite the hulk its got to tote around, that SC3800 can take some abuse...give 'er hell!

berkeley yeah!

find the heaviest car you can find that uses the same OD springs, get those springs and cut them until your ride height is where you want it. hold out a good chunk of the budget for sticky tires.

an S10 ZQ8 front bar on each end will get it to rotate, but I can't promise that you can actually package that bar. look for parts-bin swaps and get them out of the junkyard.

i'm picturing the Skoal Bandit or something similarly racy. perhaps the goodwrench racing livery?

please start a build thread and update frequently. i love this idea.

The guy I bought it from thought the motor was locked up. It needed a A/C compresser please note the delete pully.

haha, when the AC compressor failed on my wife's minivan it shook the van violently and stalled the engine. i could see a fearful and/or inexperienced person thinking the engine had just taken a E36 M3.
