Only car plan I have is hunting for a 30-spline posi and gears in the junkyard for the Roadmaster wagon. Figure I should work on the Challenge car so I can be there in spirit. Anyone have advice for removing a carrier and gears to avoid paying for a whole rear end?

If trying to free 50+year-old, heavily rusted bolts from an exhaust manifold is cool, then, yeah!
Take a cordless impact. Pinion flange bolts suck to remove under a car. Putting my dads s10 back together tonight and looking at a possible trade for my winter beater saturday. So its looking up! Heres hoping the distributor doesnt screw me!
I'll be working on the beater Saturn tomorrow, making a list of the little crap I want to fix before winter. Not nearly as cool as being at the challenge. I've decided that I'm coming next year with this car even though it won't be anything close to competitive.
I'm working in the morning trying to catch up, then I think a shower stall at home needs cleaning along with 3 bathrooms, then a dinner party.
