On another thread we mentioned that we were going to be in Wareham MA, next Friday morning, to drive the new factory 5 818 roadster. A reader asked if they could join us.
Okay, I have just talked to Factory 5 owner, David Smith and he said he would open the place up next Friday morning (June 29) and give all GRM readers a tour. My son Tom and I will be there as well. Let's shoot for 10:30 am.

Hmm... I need to head up to Mass to pick up a Spitfire hardtop a friend has been holding since we bought if off ebay...
I live right next door in Carver. Maybe I will make my way by. Should I bring the REPU,RX-7, or Mitsu van?

How long of an event will this be? I'd like to come along, but I probably wouldn't get out there until noon.
Friday is going to be a great day!!!! I turn.. . .. urrr ok lets not go there and it is the last day to get ALMS ticketts to Limerock at the discounted rate and now a FF tour. I am thinking that this is going to be a great day.

REPU!!!!! I am going to being the 924s
Ohya THANKS TIM!!!!! There is a reason why GRM is top shelf material!!!!! I don't know of any other Mag out there that would:
a. Tell there readers in advance about this kind of test.
b. Actually ask if there readers could attend the test after it had been set up.
This speaks volumes about you and all the GRM staff.
Tim bring me back a Tee shirt XL
Seemed like a good first thing to do on my vacation, but then again, I am not right in the head.
I assumed we would wrap up and grab a late lunch. Not promising anything, but depending on how many people show, this is what I had in mind.
I am going to leave this loose, as as soon as I turn this into a big organized thing, I will screw it up and piss someone off.

Try to get Factory Five to lobby for modifications to the heinous law passed in Massachusetts. I know they were trying to make it easy to register their kit cars, but they made it difficult to register actual old iron. There's a major problem when registering a fiberglass replica of a 1933 Ford is easy, and registering an actual 1933 ford is next to impossible.
[Background: SEMA-based bill started out sounding like a good thing, ended up VERY bad when modified before it was passed into law. Factory Five lobbied for the bill in its current form. I'm sure they were unaware of the negative effects it would have for other facets of the hobby.]

In reply to BARNCA:
It is? I'm out then... Where I have to go is near Sturbrigde...
Wareham is the Gateway to the Cape. Actually it is on the cape if you ask me, but Cape Codders won't consider it the cape because it is on the wrong side of that creek they dug all those years ago. Didn't know that man-made things changed the definition of a cape, but what the hell do I know? I have only been here my whole life.

I'll see if I can get the day off of work. If so I'll be there in the Z06. Should be fun to meet a bunch of GRMers and get a tour of Factory Five.
Edit: by next Friday do you mean the 29th or July 6th?
Double Edit: Crap... I can't get the morning off of work. Have fun everyone!
Yes, June 29th. I also edited my first post to add that--thanks. See when it comes to the details I start screwing things up right away.

I am going to try my best to make it. Not sure if I will be driving the DSM race car complete with its multiple GRM decals of if I should take the beater Subaru so it can catch a glimpse what it ought to be in the 818...
Woohoo, I'll be there!
If you are planning on attending, it would be appreciated if you wore a GRM shirt. They're a great way to keep track of everybody and know who is with us, and it makes a cool background for any photos.
Could you gusy bring some t-shirts up so I could buy another one? My only GRM tee got ruined wrenching on my RX-7 a few years ago. 2X if possible.
