Why even do this if Volvo is not going to make a cool performance car at all? Is it just to push the Polestar brand?

Volvo does make a cool performance car. The V60 Polestar. 350 horses, adjustable öhlins dampers, and huge brakes. It's a wagon that can hustle on a backroad!
