I managed to bend two wheels on the FR-S. I have Scion's wheel + tire package. They covered the 2 popped tires, but didn't cover the 2 rims. One is no longer round, and the other has a chunk out of the lip. Neither are covered because the both hold air. Apparently the fine print says that they rim basically needs to be destroyed to be covered. Cool.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/unhappy-18.png)
So here's the real question. I turned it in to insurance. Car got fixed. Now the shop is saying I owe $426.00. Huh? I though State Farm would handle all that. The service manager said that the insurance would reimburse me. I want to make sure before I pick it up. Is this situation like getting a tow, paying upfront for it, and then having your agent pay you back? If not then Why the hell have full coverage?
Never had full coverage before, so this is all new to me.
Does your full coverage have a deductible?
$250. Which is why $426 raised my eyes.
Well if the wheels are bent/chunked isn't it destroyed?
Tell them to get you wheels as the car will now be unsafe due to the unbalanced wheels causing lots of opportunity for further liability on their part.
You paid for coverage, scream bloody murder and demand to go up the ladder until your satisfied.
Have you talked to your agent? My thoughts are that either there was some fine print that wasn't read or the shop didn't code something right. My guess is the latter since that's happened to me before.
"Sorry, looks like we were mistaken about the amount of damage to the wheels the first time..."

Trust me, Keith, the though has crossed my mind. Many times. My fight with the wheels isn't over, yet. I'm keeping both of them.
I will be calling a number they left me. Regular insurance agent quickly pawned me of to State Farm's main base.
