My new 1968 wagon has two gauges in it, speed and fuel level. I feel like it needs more. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if I had the big three, oil pressure, water temp, and volts. I could just by generic one from autozone or I could step up to autometer gauges, but neither of those choices are very interesting. My brain immediately comes up with Lucas, Smiths, or VDO. What else is out there? Doesn't need to be vintage, just interesting. I'm planning on using electrical sending units and mounting them in some sort of under dash panel for the time being with the long term plan of planting them in the dash.
What's out there?

Interesting, as in, "I wonder what information this thing will be reporting to me today?"...?

That link isn't working for me. Give me something to Google and I'll chase it down.
I bought some cheap Sunpro gauges for my truck then ground off the mounting brackets and welded in a body shim. I mounted them saddle style on the steering wheel so I can look through my wheel and see my gauges easily. It's classy. They fit anywhere with a bolt... The roof the dash wherever you can loosen a bolt and slide in the shim and its easy if you are good at welding sheet metal. (Or just patient like me) ill put a photo of my mock up under F100 updates.
If I'd known how great it would come out I would have used more expensive gauges and put them on every vehicle I've ever owned.
I have the house brand Summit Racing gauges in the Yugo, they seem to work well besides a defective mechanical water temp gauge that they took care of promptly.
Personally, I would want a tachometer in something like that. I cant stand a manual trans without a tach(or heinously loud exhaust system).

I would see if you hae a marine flea market in your area. We do, and salvage gauges are available for cheap. Hey, it's an idea.
Stewart-Warner greenline gauges would be period correct and would look good in that car. You can buy them from Summit Racing among other sources.

In reply to stuart in mn:
We might have a winner! I'm still open to other ideas as well, but the green stripe is so matchey cool.
The sunpro retro gauges would be period correct also.

I found these pretty interesting...

Can't go wrong with good old VDOs:

This is certainly... interesting...
