I ment the wheels in your avatar, those look like some 5 spokes to me.

Yep. Bigger photos with the same wheels in my garage dashboard on here if you're interested.  They are tire rack sports edition I don't recall which one since I bought them circa 2006. Fronts fit fine but the rears really need the fenders rolled and about 5-10 mm wheel spacers to not hit the struts at full chat. (I sliced the inner sidewall open on the interstate from the strut after like 3 years.) I still don't have spacers.

I raced a Corolla last weekend....

Tell me more about this racing!  Is it an oval or corners both ways?  Are there any YouTube videos?  Looks fairly close to European rallyx.

This was right after I picked it up, replaced the wheels, engine and trans. Lightweight flywheel and amazon suspension is all it has at the moment.

What are those chin spoiler pieces from?  My Prizm looks pretty lame in the front bumper area.

Honestly I am not sure, the guy I bought it from only had it for a few months and didn't do anything to it other than create an inspection port in the block and torched the springs.

As far as I was told....any 2wd car, any engine, any tire as long as it's DOT. No reinforcement of the cars. Cut winter or mud tires are the go to. It's sorta oval but had a little bit of a right turn "straight". Gets rough...like broken suspension rough. Water addition is used to control speeds, can be extremely slippery and deep mud. Organized like a typical dirt track event with heats and features.

Beyond that I don't know much other than it happens in a very rural town of northern MN.

We've become friends. It's a localish place to where I was living up until a couple months ago but still within a couple hours. I started renting track time for testing pretty much right after he cleaned it up a bit. It been 3 years now. He just came along on autocross week last month (can see our trip on his channel of Gridlife+autocross week+karmagedon)

As I said in the beginning, "I like where this is going..."

So far, The Corolla Cup is Central Florida based.  I am in Northern Ohio.  I also see that GRM'ers from Michigan, Illinois, South Carolina and elsewhere are also noticing the idea of The Corolla Cup.  I wonder if there is a way to take this farther, wider?

Like SCCA's intended Club Spec, I think The Corolla Cup is intended to be a multi discipline competition.  The examples being something that could be Autox'ed and Tracked, or Autox'ed and RallyX'ed, or all three.
This then has me wondering, "where can you find all those disciplines in one event?"

I am then reminded that at this year's GRM Challenge, many GRM'er attended a track day at The Firm on the day after The Challenge.

Ergo....

The thought of "The Corolla Cup at The GRM Challenge" or "The Corolla Cup 1st National Championship" or "NUMMI Nationals."

The current Challenge is now open to cars that exceed $2k.  Combine that with my previous spirit of sub-classes at The Challenge.  The first of these sub-classes was my Aristocrats Class which was followed by a Minivan Class and Pickup Truck Class, etc.

Though I confess that either way, I will personally not be attending this years Challenge, this could be an interesting and admirable goal for many GRM'ers from around the nation.  It also puts a push onto SCCA of what Club Spec could be without being a $30k purchase.

PS: Many years ago I owned a light blue '91 Prizm.

Hmm. My brother has a mid 90s Rolla with a 5 speed and a friend has a slightly later one with an automatic that he pulled out of a field and has been using for track days. You all may be on to something.

Although finding a bunch of structurally sound Toyotas from the late 90s would definitely be more difficult here in the rust belt.

It would definitely be cool to get some of the Corolla gang to join the Challenge and following Firm track day.  I'm sure several will be interested.

Just a lil update, we're looking to put together a real Corolla Cup event schedule toward the end of the year when the various clubs/organizations put out their schedules.  In the meantime, I'm hoping to hit some events in mine and I'm sure a few others will join.

I'm a Corolla fan and have an 81 Wagon. Unfortunately I'm too far away to participate, but I can offer a lil suggestion. Corolla is a name, probably trademarked, that Toyota makes $$$ off of and may want to protect the TM. I suggest you look into that before putting a name out there that isn't licensed for you to use. If Toyota doesn't want that name used they have big guns to enforce their rights.

HAHA nice call out! Yeah they were originally on my AW11 but I found a perfect set of OEM AW11 wheels so now they are currently sitting in my garage waiting for the car they will be going on to come in to port.

You're probably right.  But I like to live life on the edge!  Lol. If they tell us to use a different name, we will.  I don't expect this to get much bigger than it is currently.

I created a facebook group called simply "Corolla Cup."  That seems like a more accessible place to discuss events and anything else Corolla Cup-related.  Please feel free to join the group.

the Lemons car and my personal car both have these Amazon coilovers. They work great for the price point. I'm not saying they're the required suspension, but if you show up with Motons or something crazy, we'll ridicule you!

How would you rate these as far as daily driver quality ? I had Megan springs on my Corolla and they fully collapsed onto the bumpstop so I'm back to stock springs again. I'm looking for an alternative to get some low and still be fit for daily driving. I'm no stance boi, but I want to tighten the fender gap up a bit.

Also I sent a request to join the FB group.
