iPhone OBD-II software?

I did try to search the archive but mostly found that Torque is the recommended app for Android. I've got an iPhone-compatible OBD-II reader mostly for use with Harry's Lap Timer, but I was wondering if anybody has a recommendation for diagnostic software for the phone?

Some friends really like Engine Link. I don't run iOS, but it's fairly close to Torque in what it can do. This is a hottly debated question in the automotive world. There are some that are extremely well recommended, but they cost an arm, a leg, and a jail break.

Should've mentioned - nothing that requires a jailbreak.

Engine Link Judging solely on the intelligence level of my friends, I don't think this one requires a jailbreak, but it's the app they use. Seems a bigger issue with IOS is the OBD II connector itself, but I don't know enough about IOS to explain or know if that has been fixed in time.

Yeah, for iOS you need an approved OBD-II dongle if you want to use Bluetooth. That I have, it's just the software I don't have yet.

Carly for BMW works quite well, but I think results are mixed without using the adapter that they sell.

I use fourstroke which seems to work pretty well.

A bit off-topic, but can I ask what dongle you have (wow, typing that seems questionable)? I did some looking in the past but the signal:noise ratio was off the charts.

GoPoint BT1 - it's one of the very few recommended for use with Harry's Lap Timer. Unfortunately it's also at the upper end of the price scale.

I use DashCommand with a wifi dongle (I giggle every time I say or type dongle. See, I did it again).

I am interested as well. I would like to get a setup for the truck.

I also use DashCommand with an inexpensive Elm327 wifi dongle - this one

I also have an OT-2, which does the same thing with more bulk at a much higher cost.

If it's android only, nobody told my iPhone. Note that mine's a wifi version.

Yeah, the "wifi" part is important. iPhones can connect to Wifi dongles no problem, you only need an approved device if they're talking Bluetooth (IIRC unless they're talking low-power BT, but I wasn't going to dig that deep). The issue with Wifi devices is that tools like Harry's Lap Timer can't control more than a single device that way, which basically means either talking to the GoPro or to the dongle, but not both at the same time.

I use an Elm327 and OBD Fusion on my iPad. Is it the best in the world? No idea, but it's worked well for me.
