I guess I can see some cases where it might help, and some where it might hurt. Like Keith said, it depends.

1. I believe the V6 to be physically smaller than a LSX and therefore be a much better fit for a swap in cars with smaller engine bays. It certainly seemed compact to me.

2. I believe the V6 will weigh less than an LSX giving a better weight distribution in a typical front engine RWD swap. Even in an S10 which is capable and proven to take a SBC I would imagine you could move the weight rearward for better weight distribution.

3. I believe that a direct injected V6 will return better MPG's than any LSX swap while still delivering over 300hp. The vast majority of S10 V8 swaps I've seen have been 185-235hp van engines poorly tuned and lucky to be getting double digit MPG's

4. I don't see the issue

LOVE to see that little Camaro V6 installed in a Miata or hopefully a BMW . . . now THAT would make my GRM day complete !

My Wife's hairdresser drives a Miata, doesn't have a roll bar. Uses enough product in his hair that were it to roll over and skid on his head he'd only lose about a quarter inch off the top, could probably comb and spray the "Do" right back into shape.

Come to think of it, is there a hairdresser who DOESN'T drive a Miata ? ! ? ! ?

I just thought of another application. The Brunton super stalker, more power, less weight it's a natural fit.
