When’s the last time you saw a Shelby Charger GLHS on the road, let alone one this clean?

Billed as No. 591 of 1000, this Charger shows only 19,441 miles on the odometer.

Also included in the sale is an owner’s manual, a copy of the original window sticker and a clean Ca…

Is it bad I didn't know there were Charger GLHS, only Omnis? Same engine specs I take it?

I remember a guy coming into an autocross club meeting when I was a freshman in college and saying, "I just bought a Shelby!!"

Me: "Holy crap, that's awesome!! GT350 or GT500?"

Oh...

sad

Someone will buy that car.  Cheap way to get a lot of attention at a car show.  I for one would fawn all over it.

I don't want one, but I do love them.

Same car/upgrades more or less. 1000 Charger GLHS were made vs 500 Omni GLHS, the Centuron wheels "point" the other way, and the speedometer overlay is slightly different (reads to 135 maybe?) I'm pretty sure those are the only differences

Never did I think we would reach a point where these look kind of cool.

My dad had an earlier (Pre-GLHS?) Charger Turbo.  Light blue & silver.  It made 146hp.  Very sporty in the mid 80s, but probably pretty slow by todays standards.  I remember he sold it back to the dealer after 2 years because it was always broken

It's cool that those exist and even cooler that that one is so well preserved but man, those were crappy cars.

I had a non turbo Charger that caught fire on I-95.  I pulled over and put the fire out with water from a nearby ditch.

We then put a junkyard replacement engine in it, and it carried me through my first year in the military and all the way across the country to Tacoma, WA.

God help me, I'd buy this one..

"Old shel" would put his name on any thing? For a few bucks mostly to heart research etc.  doubt he left billions to any one.

I still have his phone # from 1954 in Dallas, if u have a 1954 phone?

Nicest guy in the world to a 17 or so year old kid, from the same high school.  he was 10yrs or so older.  Remember we, USA, had finished a world war recently, it was a different better world.

No I don't want this car.

That generation of Charger is what taught me to never buy a car when hungover. It never ran properly and I just lost money on a car that never moved
