Last of the BMWs that I would own.
Owner says it needs all five control arms, caliper and line, hub. My concerns is where did the axle go when the wheel went in 4 inches, rear diff smashed sub frame bent.
Drivers side wheel is in the proper location, so maybe the control arms took the hit.
If I could get it for $2k or less, is it worth it. $7k in recent work done to it, that looks to me like about $700 in parts.
Parting out 328xi BMW. Son took it for a joyride yesterday ran into a curb doing about 60 miles an hour. Messed up the back of the Right rim. And pushed in the tire about 4 Inches It has 150,000 miles on it. I use synthetic oil only. Last summer spent over 7.159.85 getting everything fixed. And I do have all receipts. I also have the three codes that are on in the car. Two of them are sensors Typical BMW stuff Starter motor Upper radiator hose Alternator Replace leaky rack Power window motor Reckon Pinion gear Control arm lower control arm Rear door window regulator Front right lower forward Control arm Replace engine coils Replace left rear power window regulator Steering gear Engine coil times two Value Cover assembly Drive belt tensioner Valve cover gasket Water pump Oil filter housing seal intake manifold Transferred ignition coil New battery Tires are in good condition Fresh oil change three days ago. The total was $7.894.85

As long as the mounting points for the subframe are in the right place, worst case scenario you just swap in a new junkyard subframe and associated bits. It looks like it had most of the major stuff done (water pump (though I don't see thermostat on the list, which is idiotic, since it's right above the WP)), and they're pretty easy cars to work on. Since you're doing some control arms anyway, buy a nice complete set of new M3 arms for <$1000 and improve the handling right off the bat. And put poly inserts in the rear subframe bushings no matter what - transforms the rear end handling for ~$50.
Apparently the tow truck driver was not expecting this car to ever be driven again since The car is being towed on the stinger with the front wheels on the ground. Tag on the back of the car says it is a 325XI meaning it is an all wheel drive vehicle. It should have been put on a flatbed to save the all wheel-drive system.
You can find clean-title, non crashed E90's of that vintage in that price range. I'm guessing the "7K in recent work" includes the valve cover gasket, the oil filter housing gasket, and some coolant system parts. All pretty easy jobs for a shade-tree mechanic in their garage.

Good point - I missed that. All my BMWs have been RWD, so it's not something I think about. I'd look for a RWD car over AWD unless you have some particular reason for wanting one.
This is $4500 OBO with the same miles and a little newer.

Hard pass on that for anything over $1500
I would also say Hard Pass, but so many of y'all take on crazy projects I would never touch so........
That’s what I was thinking, maybe for half of his ask and then I would still have to take a real good look at it.

I wouldn’t touch that one for anything close to his price. Too many nicer ones in the same price range.
