There I was minding my own business at wallyworld buying some grass seed as well as some other yard work items when my wife sends me a text. "Buy me that Camaro" she says, so I "jokingly" text back OK
Long story short, 5 hours later we are handing over a deposit on this.

A picture of the burnout they did while driving away, of course.

A mullet and a muscle shirt
the plan as of now is show and shine, it makes her happy, and I get to work on something to make it more shiny.
I actually like Camaros. What year is that one?
Congrats. My wife owned a 1979 Camaro Berlinetta version with a 305, 2 barrel when she lived at home. I still have nightmares of that car due to the fact:
-
The front seats didn't recline and I am (was?) tall.
-
Random interior screws would show up on the carpet under the dash. Where did this come from?
-
My wife had the chick mullet.
As the years have passed I tend to like the Z28 versions.
Its an 80 Berlinetta with a 305.
the wifes first car was a 75 and she's been crying about getting another one since the day after she sold it.

Keep the wheels. They totally match the vibe.

I second that vote. Those wheels make the car. Plus I love Ansen Sprints.

Also, PLEASE tell me it has slapper bars. No camaro of that vintage is complete unless it has air shocks and slapper bars. I'm pretty sure it's a law south of the mason dixon line.
we're north of the mason-dixon, so it only has the air shocks.
Yeah, keep the wheels. Now go for a drive.
I'd see about buffing the flames off the front but leave the ones on rear 1/4's.
Otherwise awesome score!
C'mon, we want details! What motor/ trans, etc.?
Very nice!!!! Is that a flat blue or the GM Code 29 Blue?
It was repainted but Im pretty sure its GM code 29 dark blue.
Its still pretty original, 305, 350 auto trans, over sized tires that rub the inner fender wells, air shocks in the back.
needs a good cleaning inside, AC/Heater controls need to be replaced, need all new bushings(deciding on original or prothane type bushings), a drivers side outside door handle, AC needs to be charged, the horn dont work, the cold idle needs to be tweeked, and a bunch of little nit-picky things.
SWMBO LOVES the stripes and wheels, so they will stay.

383 crate motor w/ TH400. Preferably with a cam that makes it lope and OTS dual exhaust. Since it'll easily qualify for QQ plates in NJ, emissions won't be a problem.
Another 'keep the wheels' here. Cool car!

Should have got a Zam, but it looks to be a clean car
