Instead, it was cheaper to rent a car for one-way, and I drove to pick up a new ride.
SyntheticBlinkerFluid checked out a 2006 GMC Yukon Denali for me, last weekend. He gave me a good report on it, so I rented a car, and drove from Milwaukee to Nashville, yesterday. Took my Son-in-law along. We stayed at my buddy's house for night, and while out for frozen treats, SiL and I got to drive buddy's Tesla 100D. Silly fast car.
I digress. At the crack of dawn, we headed to Chattanooga. We met the seller at the airport (only place I could return the rental on a Sunday), gave the truck a going over, to confirm what SBF had reported, and handed the man a stack of money.
On our way! One thing that I noticed immediately (that I don't recall if SBF mentioned) was that it was in desperate need of new windshield wipers. Rain was in the forecast....
We intentionally took a route through Kentucky that put us at the Maker's Mark distillery. We didn't have time for a tour, but we both dipped a bottle of bourbon.
It was good to have a copilot along, for the 12 hour drive. I'm liking this truck, so far.
