it's called racer's tape when it's on a race car, right?

my race car is good for 200mph now..

...just before the explosion and big cloud of steam.

why would there be an explosion and a cloud of steam? it's a Neon, it doesn't make enough power for that to happen..

if it's because of a lack of airflow thru the radiator, i thought of that: she'll be a bottom breather with an airdam that keeps the air from flowing under the car without going thru the radiator first... might even vent the hood..

$200 cars are the best cars to make into race cars..

Best keep an eye on the temps it was never designed to be a bottom feeder. You will probably want to seal things off in front of the rad to make sure that you are forcing as much air through the rad as possible.

Your bottom breather setup won't be any more efficient than an opening of equivalent size in the tape...TANSTAAFL.

This would work for a landspeed run though, you shut down at the end of the run before the engine overheats.

It would also be a good idea to tape off the gaps in the hood, lights and bumper.

that's just my 84 Buick Regal T Type.. nothing special..

i was just bored and had a roll of duct tape... but i do have experience making cars that weren't meant to be bottom feeders into bottom feeders with the factory grilles totally blocked off: it was worth a couple of miles per gallon on my 74 Monte Carlo and made it feel more stable and planted to the road at speed.. same with my 97 and 98 Cavaliers (worth close to 5mpg) as well as an 87 Celebrity...

as a side note: a roll of garage door weatherstripping is your friend when it comes to sealing headlight and hood gaps..
