Still have lingering questions about the 2023 Nissan Z? Lucky for you, one just got dropped off at GRM headquarters.

Curious how it compares to the competition, or do you just want to know how much junk can fit in the glovebox?

Whatever your question is, drop it in the comments below.

This is maybe the only new car that actually interests me, certainly the only one that comes to mind. I'm also definitely not in a driveway/paycheck place where I'm in the market for a new car, so this is academic for me.

-Would you buy it? What role would it fill in your lineup, if you did?

-Could you comfortably DD it in Central FL traffic?

-I like a car for the experience of driving, not because I want to geek out over the tech features. I like turning the key, turning the volume knob, seeing traffic with my own 2 eyes. Is the Z tech forward or experience forward?

Where does it fall in the sports car spectrum? Like in-between the old 370z and a normal Corvette?

Is it better than its predecessor or just a refresh of the same old chassis?

Price as tested?

Would you spend your hard-earned dollars on one or is it just an also-ran?

Yep, it's basically a 370Z with the Infiniti engine. And the 370Z is just a refresh of the 350Z.

So it's essentially a 20-year old chassis with more HP and different sheetmetal.

In reply to z31maniac :

It works for Dodge. I suspect it will work for Nissan too. If that's what's required for the financial justification to keep producing sports cars, I can live with that.

Didn't say it wouldn't. Toyman just asked if it was a refresh of the existing chassis. As to the is it worth it? At $50k+, I'm spending a few k more for a Supra or the Mach 1 Mustang.

I really wanted one of these as I'm a huge Z guy, but after seeing the price/specs, etc. I decided to save $20k and buy the new BRZ.

For me, specs are less important than the driving experience. What I want to know is how fun it is compared to the competition, specs be damned. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if I would take a BRZ over any of them though, regardless of price... I was super impressed by how engaging those are to drive.

And that is why people hate dealerships.  Short term money grab over long term business model.

Been a subscriber for years, keep up the good work! Basically, since you have what looks like a Performance model, my question is, what are your plans with it? What does Nissan allow or not allow as far as changes to suspension settings - camber, etc. - and tire comparisons? Tires have been the big letdown per reviews, those Bridgestones are subpar for the Z.  Thanks!
