This really isn’t for sale but I was not sure else where to put it.I work for North American Lighting and we are a tier one supplier for exterior vehicle lighting (tail lamps, back up lamps, headlamps, fog lamps, cornering lamps, HIDS, LED-DRLs and headlamps etc etc. We supply to basically all the OEMs for the auto industry and a few others. We are experiencing growing pains in our department (sales) but busy is good, however we are individually too busy here and are looking to add to the team.

This isn’t door to door sales and there is no cold calling, it is more like inside sales or a sales engineering position because technical aptitude and understanding is helpful. Background in engineering, accounting, business, electronics, management, manufacturing, automotive, plastics, or other supplier experience is good.

You learn a lot about manufacturing, injection molding, LEDs and get to work with design of future vehicles. We have specific openings for Toyota, Honda, and Nissan accounts. Ability to use and navigate excel is a plus, the position requires a lot of use of excel but basic excel knowledge is about all you will need, IE: adding/multiplying/subtracting formulas.

We are located on the corner of haggerdy road and 12mile in Farmington hills (NE corner of 696/275)Also, I would like someone to talk car with at work. PM me or email me (fidelity101@gmail.com) your resume and I will make sure it gets in the right hands.

Maybe this isn’t a fit for you but if you know someone who would be refer them too and if they get hired I’ll pay for your autoX entry or you can co-drive the rx7 at a rallycross.

I need some more people to talk car with at work too, this job funds my GRM shennaniganns nicely so I expect it should do the same for you too!

Sorry, I'm looking for a SQL Developer position.

Otherwise I'd jump.

Probably not interested in the job but we should at least meet for lunch I'm local, in sales in the plastics industry, and autocross with DRSCCA and the MSCC. Green Subaru SVX, gold wheels. Not many of us piloting these in anger any more. I know you were at the Silverdome event as I recall seeing (and hearing!) your car. Maybe I can find someone for you and take you up on your offer of registration fees.

If I'm not mistaken, you're an FSU grad, correct? I graduated from FSU's Plastics Program and work with a bunch of automotive lighting suppliers except you guys (Tier1-US and global, Tier 2, and prototype). Get in touch when you can.

You meet the nicest people around here!

Todd

I'd be interested if I could stay put. I'm too close to Detriot right now. I do have experience in the Automotive OEM field...

But I expect you're only interested in local folks (or folks willing to become local).

Thanks,
Clem

Are we talking a full time office job here?

Or is this something one could do on the side?

Where were you 6 years ago.

Hi. I'm a moron and still infatuated with the auto business.

I'd be tempted as the office side sounds similar to what I do now, but I don't want to head to Michigan.

Does shipping things to the OEM's get any easier when you do it all day every day? It seems like a bunch of needless hoops to me(or at least FisherBody in Marion) is like that.

I was partying in college and breaking rotaries.

Shipping things to the OEMs is not part of our duties :)

Small world! I also run with DRSCCA and MSCC and work off of Hills Tech (as do a few other regular DRSCCA AutoXers). Based on my username, you might be able to guess that I'm the guy in the GTO that is at every event.

I have no other contributions and I'm not really interested in changing jobs (I'm also an IT guy and don't think I'd be good at sales) but had to respond and say hi.

We realistically don't have to sell anything, its more like being a pricing engineer.

Yeah...I was just checking to see if being in the office (as opposed to remote) was definitely necessary.

Thanks,
