So, these are my dreams wheels for this car. Yes, they are old. Yes, the tires are flat.
I just want yall to be honest and let me know what you think about these wheels on this car!
I am going to get rid of the pony and refinish these wheels.
The triangle-ness of it all is rather appropriate. Maybe needs some fatter rubber to fill the wheel well. Possible a spacer for a wider stance also.
I love them.
The white suggestion is berkeleying HAWT. Dunno about the Dixie swirls though.
Definitely needs taller and fatter rubber than pictured. Something taller than challenge rubber by about an inch. Maybe two.
To each their own, but not my taste.
20 years ago I had 2000 mustang 5 spoke 16" wheels on my old 1987 RX-7 TII. I thought they worked.
The tires are short. They will be about 1/2 inch more sidewall.
They actually come out to the edge of the fender, moreover than the stock rx8 wheels actually.
Also, not doing white wheels. I don't wash my car enough for that to work. They will be silverish.

They are 17s.
I think they date the car to make it look older than it is - and that is not necessarily a bad thing. I think the shape is strangely appropriate for a rotary powered car. I like them, but I'm a weirdo.
It's hard to separate them from their donor. They were so ubiquitous and easily recognizable they immediately stand out as being on the wrong car.
I'm not entirely unbiased though. It's a rare day when I actually like a 3 spoke wheel on a car. (Even though they're not technically 3 spokes)

Gotcha they looked smaller. Probably because of the tire profile currently on it.
Add me to the "nopenopenope" crowd. They looked bad on Mustangs , and worse on an RX-8, but it's your car.
Apparently, these wheels are polarizing.
I think that is a good thing!
I hated these wheels when they were new. Now, I think they are are RAD! No idea what changed. Maybe because I hated how they looked on a Mustang.
A little more sidewall and I'm totally in.
Polish the lips, leave the centers as-is and I'll want them.
I never liked these on Mustangs, but I think they work on an RX8. Like the others have said, more sidewall and some more low and I think they'll really look great. As far as refinishing goes, maybe polished lips and a gunmetal center? Something along these lines, just not with the black inserts
I'm going to go polished lip and hot pink centers. You're one of the few I know that would be able to pull that look off Rob

Probably cheaper and easier to 3D print some
