I'm going to a junk yard tomorrow to look for some VW stuff. I'm more than willing to scout out some stuff if you need me to. I expect to leave the house a little after lunch time tomorrow. If you're looking for something, let me know in this thread and I'll let you know. Be as specific as you can, post pics if it'll help.
This is probably not helpful.I have a 1987 16V GTI in Argentine that I will sell all or parts off of it. Contact me if you are interested..
Braden
A manual steering chrysler minivan. It'd have to be an early one, 84-87 maybe. Probably a Ram Van (cargo style) or a conversion type van would have one. Especially if it has the 2.2 carb or a 2.6 mitsu in it.
I need the u-joint off the rack, or the entire rack. I'll make it worth your while to get it for me.
'96ish F150 manual transmission. I need shift forks. What yards are you going to?
Look for rear wheel drive Volvos, wagons especially. Rust-free tailgates from 240 or 145 wagons are on my Christmas list. Any year, doesn't matter, but must be 240 or 145.
Rust-free rear bumper on a 97-04 Dodge Dakota.
Any Mazda5. I'm also interested in Mazdaspeed3 seats, and perhaps suspension bits.
Wish I could tag along, but I'm on baby duty this weekend.
I'm going to a pretty good yard in Brighton, Michaels. Bastomatic was there with me a few weeks ago. If I don't find what I want there, I'm going to parts galore in Detroit in a few weeks.
I may take a trip to parts galore early next week. I know you're looking for that visor, anything else? I'll just text if I find VW goodness.
I'll probably be at LKQ or Weller in GR in the morning. Anything you need me to keep an eye out for drboost?
In reply to Bastomatic and xflow:
Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Here's what I'm looking for
right side headlight assembly for 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
The rest are all for a 1999-2003 Golf two-door, black interior:
cup holders, the retractable one above the radio
both sun visors, the style where the light is in the headliner
glove box door
rear seat back, right side (the 60% portion).
In reply to DrBoost:
If you're coming down to Brighton anyway, you might want to check out Regal Auto Salvage in Howell ,too. They have a pick-n-pull as well as a non-public yard for newer stuff.
I have the following needs, and will pay the amount indicated (plus shipping) for them:
- 1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible Jxi: 1 center cap from the 10-spoke/5-hole wheel - $2; Automatic dimming rear view mirror - $5; pair of good rear trunk struts - $10; 1 EGR tube to intake bolt - $0.10; 1 pair of door speaker grills in tan (only if perfect) - $10; 1 set of 4 original fitted floor mats, in tan, must be very nice - $15.
- 2006 Mazda5: Driver's side sunvisor plastic receptacle - $1; rear bumper black anti-skid pad (original only) - $5
- 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT (97-02 identical): Pair of taillights, must be good! No cracks, leaks, or delamination - $50
This is a standing order for anybody and everybody! I'll delete items from my post as they are found.
Thank you
Thanks DeadSkunk. Got it Jav!
Shoot. Somebody gave me White Sox tickets for 12:10pm game. That should shoot my day.

Sorry. Cant go. My daughter was bitten in the face by a pit bull this morning!! Were at the ER now.
In reply to DrBoost:
Holy E36M3 man! I hope she's okay!
Awful, sorry to hear it. Hope she is ok
Any updates man, fingers crossed
Thanks for the concern. She's ok. As far as being bitten by a 100+ pound dog, right in the face, it's about as good as it gets.
It's another story of a dog owner that can't control her dog(s). In this case it was 5 very large, beautiful Pit Bulls. They pushed past the owner and got through the door. 4 of them were being good, but the 5th jumped up and bit her on the face. Not a mauling, or she'd be dead (as would the dog and it's owner, and I'd be posting this via a smart phone smuggle into prison in a body cavity). She has a puncture above her right eye, her right eye lid is torn, some cuts/scratches, and lots of bruising. When it happened that's all I had were my hands and fists so I'm very glad this wasn't an attack, just an ill-behaved dog. But to avoid the pack mentality I went at that dog with fists and feet flying. The owner just kinda stood there like a deer in headlights.
The Dept of health and Animal Control have been notified by the hospital. I'm going to have to CALL IN the police report because the police station was closed
Wow. Sorry to hear. It is very sad and hard to read. My best to your little girl and whole family.
Wow. I'd rather have one attack me than a kid. Hoping for a good recovery, physical and mental.
Glad your daughter is OK, and glad you realize it was a bad owner not a bad dog.
In reply to friedgreen: Yeah, I'd much rather have to beat off the whole pack of them than have my little lady get bit. The mental recovery is the biggest thing to me. My two boys (6 and 10, she's 9) saw it and are quite bothered by it.
In reply to aussie: I realize it's a bad owner not bad dog, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't want all pits banned after that. But as the former owner of 3 Akitas I can truly say, rarely is there a bad dog, but too many dog owners.
These dogs were really something else, like kicking a keg full of lead.
In reply to everyone else: Thanks. She's going to be ok. I do appreciate the concern. God I'm exhausted though. I was on, what seemed like a 2-hour adrenaline rush.
Maybe next weekend I'll get to the JY.
